National Adoption Awareness Month

Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month. The initiative was originally started in oder to increase awareness of the number of children in the foster care system that were awaiting permanent placement with a family. In addition to continuing to draw attention to this important cause, it has also grown into a month-long celebration of all things adoption. Many organizations and individuals also use this month to help educate people about misunderstood aspects of adoption. There are many wonderful social media posts from all three perspectives of the adoption triad (birth parent, adoptive parent, and adoptee). If you are touched by adoption, or interested in learning more, we recommend following along on social media all month long.

At Lauren Bates Law, I am very excited to be celebrating the first National Adoption Awareness Month since opening the firm. Adoption has personally changed my life in so many ways. It made me a mother and also started me on this career path that I am truly passionate about and that I find rewarding every day. I am grateful to be a part of the adoption community.

If you, or someone you know, is considering adoption, what better time to start the process? Feel free to contact me any time.
