About Lauren
Lauren Bates is a San Diego-based attorney whose entire focus is adoption and dependency law. As an attorney and adoptive mom, Lauren understands both the legal and emotional aspects of the adoption process. She is uniquely able to combine diligent and competent representation with compassion and understanding of her clients’ experience. She aims to make the legal portion of the adoption as transparent, efficient, and seamless as possible.
Lauren handles all adoption matters, including independent adoptions, agency adoptions, stepparent adoptions, relative adoptions, adult adoptions, and foster care adoptions.
Lauren earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. While attending law school, Lauren was a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office and served as an extern for the Hon. Marilyn L. Huff, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California. Prior to law school, Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in international studies with an emphasis in political science from the University of California, San Diego.
